clean it up

i just saw a commercial for bounty paper towels that disturbed me more than cleaning product commercials normally do. it started out with a guy and his son pushing a bowl of salsa back and forth across a long kitchen counter as if it were a shuffle board, admiring how clean and smooth the surface was. the very second they spill the bowl, a woman appears and both men look at her like "well, get to work bitch." she smiles happily and reaches for her bounty product. end of commercial.

has anyone ever seen a commercial for a cleaning product that didn't have a woman in it?

isn't it long past time we stop reenacting stereotyped gender roles from the 50's on national television like there's nothing wrong with it?

world peace: is it possible? and how!!

so i couldn't decide what to make the subject matter of my shiny new blog, much less what to write about for the all-important first post; i bet i'm not the only one who likes to read the beginning of other people's blogs for fun, so how do i avoid disappointing curious, potential readers from the future doing the same thing here? well, i'm sort of a perfectionist and a "big picture" kind of person, so after creating a lot of pressure on myself to make this post really count...

what i've decided to do is dedicate this post to solving all the world's problems! :O

thanks to blogger's no-time-limit-having editing feature, i can update this post continuously and indefinitely until said goal is achieved. so while today's reader may not find all the answers here yet, be aware of the fact that this post is still in progress, and a very important update is coming soon! and 50 years from now, my very first blog post just might contain the solution to everything.

and now, with the inspiration, words and wisdom of intelligent people both living and dead to aid me in this endeavor, i begin...

is a peaceful world possible? the short and logical answer is YES. if life itself is possible, peaceful life is certainly possible. (more on this later)
